How do the tactics of the Japenese differ from those of the Americans?

From what I could tell, It seemed like the Japanese relied on fighting in the air. The army would drop bombs down to kill the enemy, never face to face. Also, the Americans did not hide in trees or be secretive with where they were staying. The Japanese would try to never be seen. And when they were seen, they were not very good at fighting the Americans because it's a different technique. The Americans won and probably had the most logical way of fighting.
